The Pantry at St. Peter’s is open every Saturday from 10am to 12pm. If you would like to become a client, stop by on Saturday to register or call to schedule an appointment. Those interested in making a donation or volunteering their time should contact Susanne Smith.
The mission of The Pantry at St. Peter’s is to combat food insecurity felt by members of our greater community. We are collaborating with our St. Peter’s Organic Victory Garden to provide fresh produce during the growing season to complement the groceries and personal hygiene products we distribute to our clients. We are using an online inventory management system that helps us streamline the delivery of groceries, and in the coming months we plan to implement an app that would allow our clients to reserve pre-packed bags of groceries and stay informed through the announcement page.
According to Long Island Cares, Inc., one in four adults in Long Island faced food insecurity. The Pantry at St. Peter’s hopes to make a positive impact.
