North Brooklyn Angels is profiled in the Brooklyn Eagle this week for their remarkable work fighting food insecurity. Their mobile soup kitchen, the Angelmobile, continues to bring meals, dignity, and compassion to neighbors in need across the borough, supported by a corps of tireless volunteers that the Reverend John Merz jokingly likened in the profile to "a gang with pro-social values."
At Episcopal Ministries, we provided essential initial funding for North Brooklyn Angels, and the ministry since grew to be vibrant, thriving, and self-sustaining.
"The food is not the business," co-founder Neil Sheehan told the Brooklyn Eagle. "The business is neighbors helping neighbors."
