Grace Church has proudly hosted a Soup Kitchen for over 30 years. This kitchen has been a beacon of hope in the Greater Jamaica area, providing nourishing meals and fellowship to those facing food insecurity. The Soup Kitchen aims to expand its impact, increasing meal provision from approximately 150 to 250 per week with additional support from Episcopal Ministries of Long Island.
Beyond offering nutritious meals, the Soup Kitchen serves as a catalyst for community connection and support. Volunteers ensure that every individual who walks through the doors feels welcomed and valued. To overcome barriers such as funding limitations, Grace Church upgrading its kitchen to commercial status, enhancing its capacity to serve and meet the growing demand. Through partnerships with local food pantries and the dedication of parishioners, the Soup Kitchen remains steadfast in its commitment to alleviating hunger and fostering a sense of belonging within the community.
