Valerie Gutierrez Siener serves on the EMLI Board of Directors as Secretary, and she is involved in fundraising and the grant approval process. She has also assisted with planning programs and coordinating various events over the last six years.
Valerie's involvement consists of three parts: service, volunteerism, and charitable giving. She brings commitment, dedication, and organization skills to all the programs with which she is involved and ensures that the goals and mission of Episcopal Ministries are being met.
As a life-long Episcopalian, Valerie has served as a member of the Vestry, a Treasurer, a Lay reader, and member of the Altar Guild. She is a licensed Eucharistic Minister, and currently serves as a steward of the Cathedral and as a Lector. She is involved in various committees such as the Social Justice, Pastoral Care and Hospitality, among others.
Valerie is a newly retired mathematics teacher, with a doctorate from Columbia University. She also holds a Certificate of Graduation from the Mercer School of Theology for the Standard Theological Program.
