Episcopal Ministries of Long Island and the Diocese are honored to announce that our short-form video, Micah Breakfast Ministry at St. Barnabas, Brooklyn, has received an Award of Excellence in the 2026 Polly Bond Awards for Excellence in Episcopal Church Communications, the top honor in the Short-Form Video category.

The video was produced by Teddy Byrne of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island in collaboration with EMLI's Jack Smith for EMLI's 2025 Celebration of Ministry. It tells the story of the Micah Community Breakfast, a lay-led Saturday morning ministry at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in East New York that serves over 75 guests weekly, many of whom depend on it as their only meal of the day.

The Polly Bond Awards, presented annually by Episcopal Communicators, recognize outstanding work in church communications across 20 categories. This year's winners were judged by communications professionals from outside the Episcopal Communicators' membership.
